Privacy Policy

Friendball is built for a small, trusted community, and this policy reflects that: we collect what's needed to run the app, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.

1. What we collect

To run Friendball, we store:

Account info (email, username, display name, password — hashed, never stored in plain text); profile content (bio, avatar, posts, Rolls, comments, reactions, and any photos or videos you upload); direct messages between you and friends; your friend list, World memberships, and vouches; and basic activity data used to make features work, like when you were last active (for the "Active now" indicator) and which posts you've saved, reacted to, or reported.

2. What we don't do

We don't sell your data to anyone. We don't show ads, and we don't share your content or activity with advertisers. We don't use your posts, photos, or messages to train AI models.

3. Who can see what

Friendball's whole design is around audience control: posts, Rolls, and shares are only visible to the audience you chose (friends, friends-of-friends, close friends, a specific World, or public). Direct messages are only visible to you and the other person in the conversation. Reactions and replies to Rolls are private — only you (as the Roll's author) can see who reacted and what they said. Poll votes are private — only aggregate counts are ever shown, never who voted for what. Your saved posts and close friends list are visible only to you.

4. Who has access internally

The people running Friendball can access reported content and account information as needed to review reports, respond to abuse, and keep the community safe — not to browse member content generally.

5. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. When you do, your profile, posts, messages, and other content are removed from everyday view; some data may be retained briefly for safety and legal purposes (like preventing a banned account from immediately signing back up) before being permanently deleted.

6. Third parties

Friendball uses a small number of infrastructure providers to run the app — a database and file storage provider (Supabase), an email provider for notifications, and (for live audio/video Worlds) a real-time media provider. These providers process data only as needed to provide their service to Friendball, not for their own purposes.

7. Your choices

You can block any user, leave any World, turn off notifications, and delete your account at any time. If you'd like a copy of your data or have questions about what's stored, reach out and we'll help.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll let members know in-app before the change takes effect.
